Sound insulation with visual appeal
Perforated sheet cladding made from aluminium
Everybody wants sound insulation. But nobody wants to have a horrible wall staring right at them. The solution: cladding made from perforated sheets. When combined with other materials this turns into a genuine statement piece, which is easy on the eyes and ears! Even if there is a refuse fuelled power station located behind it.
Anyone who doesn't want to hear anything should be able to see something!
Sound protection walls don't have an easy time - they must absorb sound and still look good. When planning the waste incineration plant in Frankfurt, Gerd Hödl therefore used perforated sheeting. Although the massive wall is over 500 metres long, it still has a filigree appearance thanks to the perforated sheet panelling. The combination with steel, concrete, glass and stainless steel covers produces a genuine visual treat for the neighbouring residents. Because anyone who doesn't hear anything, should at least see something.
